Definition of Execution

Part 2: Letter from IMG Managing Director:

Dear Colleagues,

Today, I wish to share with you about “Execution.”

What is Execution? It refers to the implementation of our strategic plans, and the capability to complete our goals.

In today’s competitive market, there are many coffee cafes, but why does Starbucks dominate? With so many supermarkets, why are Wal-Mart and Carrefour the only ones to succeed? With the same PC, why is Dell at the top? Many companies out there have similar strategies but what accounts for their different fates? Numerous companies have great ideas, but why are only a very few successful? Well, successful companies have many reasons behind their success, but one reason keeps showing up — strong and effective execution! Companies that can long withstand the brutal tests of the market and become invincible, do so by virtue of their execution. Execution is most important above everything else!

Are you an asset to the company?

Part 1: Letter from IMG Managing Director:

Have you ever asked yourself this question: “Am I a valuable person to the company?”

If the answer is yes, then I am glad for you.  Because you understand our company’s most critical success factor and you are a valuable person to IMG! With your constant effort in creating value for IMG, your future will be bright and I believe strongly that as IMG grows, you will definitely reap more rewards!

For the rest of us, do you know what defines value?

A roadside tree that provides shade for travelers is valuable; in the desert, an oasis is valuable; doctors who can treat and eliminate the pain of patients are valuable; a good book full of useful knowledge is valuable…  Similarly, in our company, you as our talent, hold the key to our strength and wealth. If you are able to bring results and create value that contributes to the growth of the company, then you’re most valuable.

It is the wish of every working professional to improve their own capabilities. However, we must identify the convergent point where one’s individual ability meets with the interests of the company; this convergent point determines your value. If you are capable and talented, but you do not create real value for the company, then you’re actually a redundancy.

Therefore, we must adopt this mindset, “To become a valuable person, I should perform tasks that add value to the company” and plan our actions according to this direction.

So how do we go about it?
